พ่อของผมเล่าให้ฟังว่าเมื่อยี่สิบปีที่แล้วได้เดินทางไปแคชเมียร์

ตลอดเวลาในวัยเด็ก
พ่อไม่เคยเบื่อที่จะบรรยายว่าเมืองที่ถูกปกคลุมด้วยหิมะแห่งนี้สวยงามดังสวรรค์

ยี่สิบปีต่อมา ผมมาถึงด้วยตัวเอง

จากวันนี้ถึงวันนั้นสิ่งที่แตกต่างคงมิใช่บรรยากาศหรือภูมิทัศน์
แต่เป็นจำนวนตำรวจทหารที่เพิ่มขึ้นมากอย่างน่าอดสู

the journey to the north nov 05 indian-controlled kashmir

my father told me that, twenty years ago, he went to kashmir.
throughout my childhood, he kept mentioning about his experience there.
to him, this snowy region was so beautiful he calls it paradise.

twenty years later, i arrived in kashmir.

from his day, to my day, the significant change in kashmir is not the scenery.
but, pathetically, the growing number of police and military person.

บ่ายวันที่เดินข้ามชายแดนปากีสถานเข้ามายังรัฐปัญจาบของอินเดีย ผมพบกับมาเตย ชายหนุ่มผู้ซึ่งเรียกตัวเองว่า "เดอะพีซไฮเกอร์".... เขาเดินทางมาแล้วทั่วโลกโดยไม่มีเิงินติดตัวและไม่มีวีซ่า

มาเตยจะเดินไปยังจุดผ่านแดนแล้วพูดกับต.ม.ด้วยน้ำเสียงที่มีพลังของคนหนุ่ม พูดจากความเชื่อด้วยใจจริงว่า มนุษย์ไม่ควรที่จะต้องใช้ชีวิตอยู่ภายใต้กฎแห่งพรมแดนประเทศ แล้วเขาก็จะขอให้ต.ม.ปล่อยให้เขาเดินผ่านเข้าไป...ซึ่งเขาเดินผ่านมาแล้วในหลายประเทศ

walking from pakistan into india, i ran into Matej, the 'peacehiker'...he has been travelling around the world without money and visa.

He usually walks to the border and talks to the immigration polices and speaks from his heart saying his message to the polices that human should not have to live in a world full of borders, and he asks the polices to let him pass..which many have (at least in most countries..but not pakistan)

in the case of the dalai lama, whose mind has been so developed that despite so much harm the chinese has done to him and his country, he still holds a great compassion toward the chinese. by not clinging to the ‘self’ of tibet as a country, he sees that there are other things to be pursued which are more important than sovereignty and independence. after all, according to buddhism’s principle, everything is interconnected and, therefore, true independence does not exist.

a small section in a newspaper today has a story of a kashmiri man who has just come back home after riding bicycle around the world for twenty years, calling for simple peace for the world.

he said that he met so many people during his trip but he never once met one bad person.
