after rain, a line of thin cloud will form itself in the middle of the mountain creating the most sublime scenery i never got tired off even after five rainy seasons.

often when meeting old friends, i sometimes forget how close i used to be with them or how many things we have done together in the past.
i rarely remember what i have done with some friends whom i spent many years with.
but , sometimes, memory of those i only hung out with for only a month is vividly fresh and clear in details.

ผมและพี่ถั่วแระปั่นจักรยานจากมหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่มุ่งสู่ยอดดอยอินทนนท์
สามทุ่ม เราขึ้นมาถึงจุดที่สูงและหนาวมาก ไฟหน้ารถแบตเตอรี่หมด การวกกลับลงไปที่พักด้านล่างเป็นอันตราย พวกเรานั่งพักท่ามกลางดวงดาวและความมืดของภูเขา
ความเหนื่อยล้าทำให้ผมเผลอหลับไป เมื่อตื่นขึ้นมาก็พบว่าเนื้อตัวเย็นเฉียบและรู้สึกหนาวสั่น
ในห้วงเวลานั้นซึ่งผมกำลังท้อ พี่ถั่วแระคุยให้ฟังว่าทำไมชาวมุสลิมต้องถือศีลอด และสิ่งที่มุสลิมได้เรียนรู้จากเดือนรอมฎอนคืออะไร คำพูดของพี่ถั่วแระทำให้ผมคิดได้และลุกขึ้นปั่นต่ออีกทีจนถึงยอดเขา
ห้าทุ่ม พวกเราเป็นคนไทยสองคนแรกที่ปั่นจักรยานถึงยอดดอยอินทนนท์ (เท่าที่ทราบจากทหาร)

on one cold winter day, i and brother tua rae biked from chiangmai university to doi intanon, the highest mountain of thailand.
at 9 pm, we reached the unreturnable section, we ran out of batteries, and it was freezing cold. i almost gave up. brother tua rae then started to explain to me what the muslim are expected to learn from fasting in the ramadan month. the talk striked me powerfully. i, then, decided to get up on the bike again and we finally did reach the summit by around 11 pm.
at 11pm, we were the first thai to ever reach the summit by bikes
ps: we reached the summit straved and cold. yet, instead of looking for food and warm shelter, the first thing brother tua rae did was looking for water to wash himself and pray.

tonight, i stayed at the Raffle hotel, a very fine hotel where the office of my news agency is also located. I went with mr. kameda to cover an election campaign in cambodia.
at midnight, i went down to chat with the concierge. he is a bright looking young man. he told me he only sleeps 3 hours per day. because he works at two places, goes to college in the morning, and studies english in the afternoon.
he said he wants to work with the ngo in the future if he can.

การสร้างบรรยากาศการเรียนที่เอื้อให้เขาได้พบว่าภูมิปัญญาและองค์ความรู้ทั่วไป
ที่พวกเขามีอยู่แต่ระบบการศึกษาหลักไม่เห็นค่านั้น แท้จริงแล้ว มีค่ามากเพียงใด
ผมทำเช่นนั้นได้โดยการเปลี่ยนตัวเองเป็นผู้เรียนแล้วให้เขาเป็นอาจารย์

i found that the best way i can teach in the classroom at the teachers' college for refugee is to create an atmosphere which accommodates students to realize the importance of their local knowledge and worldview; valuable wisdom that mainstream education has marginalized.
I did so by 'not teaching' but 'being taught'.
